Takopi's Original Sin

A squid-like creature known as a Happian leaves his cheerful home planet with a noble mission: to spread happiness across the universe. His journey brings him to Earth, where he quickly faces the threat of capture by its human inhabitants. Fortunately, he is discovered by a quiet, emotionless girl named Shizuka Kuze, who takes him in, feeds him, and gives him the name Takopii. Moved by her kindness, Takopii promises to do everything he can to bring a smile to her face.

However, making Shizuka happy is easier said than done. She is bullied at school, abandoned by her father, and largely ignored by her overworked mother—realities that the naive Takopii struggles to grasp. Her only source of joy is her beloved dog, Chappy, whose companionship deepens Takopii’s desire to help her.

With pure intentions and the help of strange alien gadgets, Takopii sets out to change Shizuka’s life. But his efforts result in unexpected, and sometimes tragic, consequences. Still, Takopii is determined to understand human emotions and fulfill his mission to spread happiness—one child at a time.
